Patagonia remains steadfast in their commitment to build the best products while causing no unnecessary harm. Their work in material development, design ethos, and political activism continues to set an example for how a successful business can be environmentally minded. Over the years, we have been honored to support their team with various projects. Some of these efforts have focused on refining existing gear, while other projects aimed to push boundaries - supporting advanced R&D programs and developing new product categories.

“This is truly a black hole. It's perfect for travel, and it's so easy to pack around a ton of my essentials.”

The Black Hole Duffel

The original stuff-swallower of the collection, Black Hole duffels come in four sizes, with or without wheels. There's a large zippered opening to the roomy main compartment to make packing and unpacking easier. To stave off rain, snow and mud while protecting gear from rough handling, Black Holes are made from highly weather-resistant ripstop. There are webbing handles with a snap closure at the top plus haul loops at either end. And when you return from parts known and unknown, the entire bag can stuff into its own pocket for compact storage.

Rethinking the product … as the packaging.

The Black Hole collection is a legacy infused with seasoned talent throughout the decades. Patagonia approached our team to help identify a more thoughtful packaging solution for these bulkier products. Our solution: make the product convert into its own packaging. This clever approach not only saves material, it helps champion Patagonia’s environmental stewardship.

Lightweight Black Hole

As an extension of the original Black Hole family, we’ve gone on to help develop the lightweight collection. These minimalist packs shed 50% in fabric weight but retain the classic durability and ruggedness of their relatives. In addition to these packs, we’ve help support the design and development of the Endurance series for trail running amongst other projects with the Patagonia advanced R&D team.
